Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry.
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.
But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.
He says, “Be still and know that I am God –“
But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

He will cover you with His feathers. Under His wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.
But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
My comfort in my suffering is this; Your promise preserves my life.
Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed.
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
For your Maker is your husband – the Lord Almighty is His name –
2 Corinthians 1:3&4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
I Timothy 5:3
Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.
I Timothy 5:5
The widow who is really in need and left alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress –
1 Peter 5:10
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
2 Peter 3:18
