A gemstone processing plant which has presence in Southern Africa is expected to open in Zambia next month.
Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary, Barnaby Mulenga said the 3.2 Million-US-Dollar Mutinta Jewelery process plant will spur the much-desired value addition in the mining sector.
Mr Mulenga explained that his ministry will collaborate with other line ministries to create linkages for the processing plant to thrive.
The Permanent Secretary said this when he toured Mutinta Jewelery company limited in Lusaka.
And Mutinta Jewelry Company Limited Board Chairperson, Msafiri Sinkala disclosed that his company will create over 200 direct and 100 indirect jobs once operational.
