Nigeria lifts ban on inter-state movement.


The Federal Government, yesterday has lifted the ban on interstate movement, which is to begin from 1st of July 2020, which means Nigerians can now travel across state boundaries under the following conditions.


The announcement was made on Monday by Secretary to Government of the Federation who is also the chairman presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, on Monday during the daily media briefing.


According to statement from National coordinator of PTF, Dr. Sani Aliyu it reads, “Only 50% of the passengers are allowed with compulsory use of face mask,”


The PTF, also emphasized that the nationwide curfew between 10 pm and 4am, is still on and has warned that travels are not allowed from 10 pm to 4am.


2. Governor Wike received N100 million, Ambulances, and Cartons of plasta from Bua's company.


The Bua Company, visited the Rivers State government house yesterday 29th of June and made some donations to Governor Wike on behalf of the State.


Mr Kalifa Isiaku Rabiu, who is the General Manager of Bua cement company, donated three COVID-19 life supporting Ambulances to the Rivers State government in support of her fight against the virus known as COVID-19.


It was also revealed by governor Wike, that Bua cement company, also donated One Hundred Million Naira (N100,000,000) and a truck load of Four Thousand (4,000) cartons of pasta to the State Government.


Meanwhile Governor Wike, appreciated the Bua cement company, for assisting the Rivers State government and her people in the fight against COVID19.


Wike in his statement said, "You have shown you are part and parcel of Rivers State and i want to sincerely commend you. You have shown a difference with your willingness to support Government to save lives."


"We appreciate those who have come to make sure lives are saved and transmission is reduced. We are committed to making the business environment easy for our people."


Presenting the Ambulances on behalf of Bua Group its Executive Director of Bua cement company, Mr Kalifa Isiaku Rabiu thanked the Government for making Bua's operation swift in the state on presentation.


According to a statement from Mr Kalifa Isiaku Rabiu, the general manager of the company, he said, "I want to assure you that Bua group is committed to supporting the State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria."


3. We didn’t postpone June allowee, says NYSC.


According The National Youth Service Corps on Monday 29th Of June 2020, said it had not postponed the monthly payment of allowance (popularly known as allowee), for the month of June, describing contrary reports as fake news.


Adenike Adeyemi, the NYSC Director (Press and Public Relations), in her statement, said, "Management hereby states that the release did not emanate from the NYSC. It is the handiwork of mischief makers bent on deceiving corps members and should be disregarded in its entirety.


“For the avoidance of doubt, all qualified corps members shall be paid allowance for the month of June, while in addition, those passing out from service in July shall receive July stipend, as well as transport allowance.”


4. A Board of Trustees (BoT) member of UPP, Decamped to people democratic party (PDP) with about 2000 members of Party as well as supporters APGA and APC.


A Board of Trustees (BoT) member of United Peoples Party (UPP), in Anambra State, Ifeanyi Chukwurah, has decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alongside with about 2,000 members of the UPP, and other supporters from All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and All Progressives Congress (APC).


It was revealed that they all decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP), yesterday being Monday, 29th of June 2020.


While receiving PDP flag and party membership card from the Oyi Local Government Area Chairman, Emeka Mmadu, at the Nkwlle-Ezunaka Ward, Chukwurah said, "PDP would defeat the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance, adding that the new platform would give him the opportunity to advance his political career.


“It is very clear that PDP is taking over power in 2021 in Anambra State. It is, therefore, our desire that we join the moving train, and see to the actualisation of PDP take over.


“I have been in the UPP for long, where I became a member of BoT; but I denounced it, and today, join the PDP to join hands in wining the 2021 polls, and in making Anambra State great once again, he said.


Earlier, Mmadu said the party would carry the new entrants along in all the programmes and activities of the party.


“We commend Chukwurah and his group for their courage in joining PDP. Your defection is timely, because our target is to take over Anambra in 2021, and to achieve that target, we need experienced politicians, who also have follower-ship,” he said.


Meanwhile A PDP stakeholder in the area identified as Uchenna Nwosu, urged the new entrants to deploy everything at their disposal to help in moving the party in the council a rea forward.
